Pre & Post Workout Journaling Prompts

Journaling can be a great complement to your movement practice.

Here are a few prompts we have created to help you step your mind and body away from comparison, judgement and shame, and instead step into kindness, honouring and compassion - both on and off the mat.

Before movement practice:

  • Where and what are you noticing in your body, your mind, or emotions?

  • After reflecting on these things, what is your intention for your movement practice?

  • How can you stay present and true to your intention throughout your movement practice?



After movement: 

  • What shifts and changes are you noticing in your body, mind or emotions after moving?

  • How did you exercise presence in your movement practice today? Did that work for you, or is there space for you to make changes to to your approach (on or off the mat)?

  • Take a moment to make a brief list of things that bring you joy. This can be an honouring of self or others: how you showed up for yourself (on or off the mat) today, or how someone shows up for you.
